A food lover always gets attracted to delicious food, and a chef always gets fascinated to do something out of the ordinary experiments to create unique and mouth-watering recipes. A chef, who experiments a lot, also knows how to make someone feel hungry every time, even though a person isn’t hungry at all! So, here we have come up with Chef Suresh Thampy, his journey and passion for cooking.

At present Chef Thampy is the Executive Chef of Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, which is part of InterContinental Hotel Group. He has a beautiful career span of over 20 years of hospitality experience.

After completing a Diploma in Hotel Management, he did Culinary Arts/ Chef training from Rizvi College of Hotel Management. His cooking career started at an authentic ITALIAN restaurant called Biskotti at Haji Ali, Mumbai. His strength lies in crafting new and innovative culinary creations, whereas, at the hotel, his responsibility spans setting the menu, mentoring the culinary team and recruiting the right candidates for the Food and Beverage department.

The guests appreciate the beautiful plating style of Chef Thampy, for the hotel – his management style, attention to detail, and result-oriented approach is his biggest asset. 

He has worked with some of the first-rated hotels in the country including Sheraton Grand, Bangalore Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai, Madinat Jumeirah Dubai, JW Marriott Hotel, Mumbai, ITC Hotel Grand Maratha Sheraton & Towers Mumbai and many more prestigious properties.

If we talk about the awards and rewards he got, then he has earned many awards like ACE (Award for Culinary Excellence) awards by Marriott International in 2011.

He is a master at his work, and he showed it to us by giving a live example; as he has shared the recipe of his Signature Dish – Egg White Frittata, which is an ITALIAN dish. From whisking the egg whites till it looks perfect for making the dish to decorating the salads including black and green olives, smoked salmon into the plate, he did a fabulous job! Chef Suresh says that the Egg White Frittata is both delicious for the tongue and healthy for the body. 

On asking about his future goals, he said, “Holiday Inn has been one of the success stories for me, and I look forward to an incredibly rewarding career at this place”.
