Ramzan or Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar, recognised as the holiest month. People maintain complete discipline in life in the entire month. And at the end of this month, Eid is feasted as a completion of this holy month of Ramzan.

The celebrations are also recognised as Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the 30 days of Roza/fasting observed in the month of Ramzan. The festival of Eid is also known as Meethi Eid, with Muslims serving Sevaiyaan for the special feast. It is the only day in the month of Shawwal when Muslims are not permitted to fast.

People wear new dresses. All the members of the family offer Namaaz in the morning, then men go to the Mosque/Masjid to offer Namaaz, and then they wish each other by hugging each other.

People also present gifts to each other on this occasion. After then they serve Sevaiyaan or sheer-khurma to all the people who visit them. Some people also help the needy ones, so that they can also celebrate this festival with joy that is known as Zakat-ul-Fitr.

The festival of Ramzan is celebrated on different dates in different places, based on the moon sighting. Usually, the celebration in India is marked a day after celebrating Eid in the United Arab Emirates.

As per the calendar, people can observe the moon on May 23 evening, and the festivities will take place on May 24. In India, people can see the moon on May 24 evening. Accordingly, the celebrations will take place on May 25.

There are some lines I wrote on this auspicious occasion,

Pakwano ka phir se ambaar lagega,

Har baar ki tarah is baar bhi chaand ka intezar rahega,

Sevaiyaan ki khushboo se ammi ka kitchen phir mahkega,

Is baar Eid ka tyohar kuchh alag manega..

Namaaz, hum ghar par hi ada karenge

Gale milenge magar savdhani se..

Dua me is bar kuchh alag mangenge,

“Jo pareshan hain, un sab ko madad mile,

Is bure waqt me maula sab ka sath dein”

Doston aur rishtedaron se mulaquat is bar video call par hi karengey,

Is baar Eid me kuchh alag karengey…

Eid Mubarak!!!

SMUDE Live wishes you all a very Happy Eid.
